Delegation led by XJTU Deputy Party Secretary Wang Xiaoli visits American universities

From September 23 to September 29, a delegation from XJTU led by Deputy Party Secretary Wang Xiaoli toured a number of American universities, including the University of Connecticut, the University of Minnesota and Stanford University, where they met with their counterparts and exchanged ideas on a variety of issues, among which were pedagogy, teachers' exchanges and international cooperation. Some of the talks involved long range strategic planning, and others were concerned with on-going programs, and how to improve and expand them.

The members of the delegation also held employment recruitment meetings at each of the three universities. Nearly 100 doctoral students who were studying or going to graduate took part in the recruitment meetings. They showed great interest in going back to work in XJTU. Vice party secretary Wang Xiaoli visited the students of XJTU in 3+2+X program of University of Connecticut on behalf of XJTU and encouraged them to cherish the chance to study abroad, study hard and succeed in the field of science and technology.

Participants in the delegation were: Professor Zhu Zhengwei, executive dean of the School of Public Policy and Administration; Professor Li Shuzhuo, the director of the Population Research Institute of the School of Public Policy and Administration; Mr. Gong Jiechang, vice minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges Mr. He Changzhong.
