Delegation from the University of New South Wales visits XJTU
On the morning of September 20, XJTU was visited by a six-member delegation from Australia's University of New South Wales, led by Professor Michael Frater, the Rector of UNSW's University College, located at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra.
At a meeting in Room 201 of the Science Hall, Vice-President Jiang Zhuangde welcomed the visitors to XJTU. He noted that in 2010, XJTU and the University of New South Wales had signed a cooperation agreement, and expressed the hope that the two universities could expand that cooperation into other fields.
Professor Frater thanked XJTU for its warm reception, and then proceeded to give a brief introduction to the University of New South Wales in which he stressed the close connection between research and enterprise that his university favors. He said that he too hoped that the University of New South Wales might continue to deepen and strengthen its exchanges and other cooperative activities with XJTU. The members of the two delegations then discussed the problems like education and international cooperation. Later, the delegation visited the campus and laboratories.
