The World Internet Conference (WIC) held review meetings for sub-forum applications of the 2024 WIC Wuzhen Summit.
Representatives from members including Tsinghua University, Nankai University, China Unicom, Ping An Group, Lenovo Group, People.cn, IPv6 Forum, British Standards Institution, eWTP, ChinaEU, Lalamove, DBAPPSecurity Co, Yinxiang Biji and TMTPost presented their proposals for sub-forums on topics such as cross-border e-commerce, next generation network, youth, fintech, smart transportation and responsible AI development.
A panel of experts from Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China Telecom, Huawei, Asian Financial Cooperation Association, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and China International Electronic Commerce Center evaluated and scored the proposals on-site.
Since the inception of the sub-forum application and selection mechanism, over 40 WIC members have applied to host or co-organize Wuzhen Summit sub-forums. The WIC will endeavor to provide more opportunities for members to give full play to their resource advantages and work with diverse partners on the development and governance of global internet.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
