AMSTERDAM – Around 100 industry leaders and experts gathered in Amsterdam on Thursday for the Huawei Cloud Media & Entertainment Summit, where a variety of AI-driven solutions for the media and entertainment industry were unveiled. These solutions are set to nurture an ecosystem that promises a more vibrant and prosperous future.
In her speech, Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, emphasized the transformative impact of AI on the media industry. She noted how AI is reshaping the entire content chain, from creation and distribution to consumption.
“To embrace this transformation, Huawei Cloud offers a comprehensive full-stack solution. It is built on a robust cloud computing infrastructure, KooVerse, a digital content production pipeline called MetaStudio, and cutting-edge AI,” she said.
Jamy Lyu, President of Huawei Cloud Media Services, added that Huawei Cloud’s media services will enhance the media and entertainment industry by improving content production efficiency, redefining content distribution to provide a premium experience, and fostering powerful monetization strategies to tap into a second growth curve.
Several impressive solutions were launched at the event, including AI virtual human creation, AI video translation with original voice retention, and AIGC-based video re-rendering, all designed to help users produce content more quickly and efficiently.
For instance, virtual humans created through MetaStudio can reduce short video production times from days to minutes. These virtual humans, with lip-sync accuracy of 98%, can speak more than 20 languages and are applicable in various industries.
Additionally, to enable more real-time interaction during live streams, Huawei Cloud’s Low Latency Live, in collaboration with its proprietary Real-Time Transport Protocol, reduces latency to under 500 ms. Moreover, to ensure uninterrupted video playback, Huawei Cloud leverages AI recognition and codec technology to seamlessly integrate targeted ads into video scenes.
According to Huawei, the newly launched cloud media services have already partnered with several companies in the media and entertainment sectors, helping them not only increase their user base but also significantly enhance their revenue generation capabilities.
At the event, Huawei Cloud, alongside partners such as Ateme, Goose, and Hares Media, officially launched the Media and Entertainment Ecosystem Alliance. The alliance is designed to promote resource sharing and complementary advantages in AIGC production and OTT services, driving collective growth and success across the industry.
