AI to take center stage at the 2024 WIC Light of Internet Expo

Artificial intelligence will take the center stage at the upcoming 2024 World Internet Conference (WIC) Light of Internet Expo, to be held later this year in Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province, according to its organizers.

This year's expo will adhere to the principles of internationalization, professionalism, and social engagement, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to innovation and openness, its organizers said in Beijing on Sept 3, where they were hosting a promotion event for the expo. 

Representatives from the WIC and WIC members, the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang, as well as the Cyberspace Administration of Zhejiang Province, and representatives from exhibitors and partners, attended the promotion event.

As an event of the WIC Wuzhen Summit, the expo has been held for 10 years alongside the summit. With a growing focus on innovation and internationalization, the expo aims to showcase cutting-edge technologies, explore new models, and expand service scenarios, moving forward with innovation in a new stage. 

The expo aligns closely with the trajectory of contemporary developments and cutting-edge technologies, creating an innovative, open, intelligent, and green exhibition with shared benefits, according to representatives from the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang.

The expo will include five main components: Exhibition Showcases, Release of New Products and Technologies, Talent matching, Industrial cooperation matchmaking and "Light of Innovation" series promotions. With a focus on AI, the expo will integrate online and offline experiences to spotlight the debut of the latest technologies, products, applications, business models, and innovations in sectors like large models, big data, computing power, robotics, autonomous driving, intelligent vision, digital villages, low-altitude economy, and cybersecurity.

The expo will be held in the fourth quarter on a date yet to be announced. It will invite global enterprises, teams, and research institutions to participate in and showcase cutting-edge digital technologies and foster international cooperation in the digital economy.
