China will guide and support private enterprises and platform enterprises to participate in major national technological innovation projects and cultivate world-class digital industry clusters, the country's top industry regulator said on Tuesday.

Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Wang Jiangping said China places great emphasis on basic innovation and will promote the research, development and application of core technologies.

More efforts will be made to strengthen cooperation among manufacturing enterprises, universities, scientific research institutions, service providers, financial institutions and other parties to promote the integrated development of informatization and industrialization on a broader, deeper and higher level, Wang said at a conference in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
