Nineteen African railway officials and diplomats toured Qinghai-Xizang Railway this week to study high-altitude operations and technology transfer, kicking off a week-long exchange that Chinese officials hailed as a new bridge for China-Africa cooperation. [Photo by Palden Nyima/chinadaily.com.cn]
On June 24, they embarked on a journey along the historic Qinghai-Xizang railway to Xining, the capital of Qinghai province, where they experienced firsthand the impact of this high-altitude route on unity, sustainability, and economic development.
High-ranking officials, including Karma Tsetan, chairman of the Xizang autonomous regional government, and Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday and delivered speeches.
