Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City launched in Tianjin’s Wuqing

The launching ceremony of Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City (JJINC) was held in Wuqing district, Tianjin on Dec 26, with over 300 participants, including leaders, academicians and representatives of key offices from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region attending the event.

The ceremony released the approved planning and construction plan for JJINC by the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, and introduced the policies to promote the high-quality development of JJINC.

Wuqing district, together with Beijing’s Haidian district, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, Beijing Jiaotong University and Huayu Venture Capital signed a cooperation agreement on site; Tianjin University Synthetic Biology Frontier Research Institute and Chengtong Human Resources Beijing-Tianjin Talent Development Group were also unveiled at the event.

JJINC aims to build a new platform for accommodating non-capital functions from Beijing, a new hub for high-end industry aggregation, and a science and technology innovation city for talents in the Beijing-Tianjin region through high-quality industrial planning, city design, and policy measures.

Wuqing district, located in the middle of the Beijing-Tianjin golden corridor, possesses advantages in terms of industries, talents, transportation, ecology, and space. It is a key force in promoting the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In recent years, Wuqing district has regarded the coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as its crucial task. It has made every effort to undertake the transfer of non-capital functions from Beijing and promote the deep integration of industrial and innovation chains. Advantageous industry clusters, represented by intelligent technology and biopharmaceuticals, have continued to grow. Modern service industries such as e-commerce and tourism have flourished. Over 2,500 Beijing-based companies have settled in the district.
