Tianjin Wuqing Auto Industrial Park, approved by the Tianjin Municipal Government on August 26, 2009, is a municipal-level industrial demonstration park. In 2013, it was recognized as a "National Torch Automobile Parts Special Industry Base" by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and in 2015, it obtained accreditation as a national-level science and technology enterprise incubator and municipal-level mass innovation space. The park has a planned area of 50 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers have been developed so far.

The park adheres to the development direction of high-tech industries and seizes the favorable opportunity of promoting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy to national strategic level. It focuses on three dominant industries: automobiles and parts, new energy and materials, and high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing. The park has attracted over 1,000 enterprises, including 54 physical companies, with a total investment of over 80 billion yuan. The park has developed its automotive and parts industry, represented by companies such as BYD New Energy Automobile, Tsinghua University's Automotive ESC Project, and Changchun Automotive Parts. It has also established its new materials industry, represented by Zhongwang Aluminum, Huajiang Composite Materials, and the University of Science and Technology Beijing's Titanium and Aluminum Alloy Industrialization Project. Additionally, the park is nurturing its own high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing industry, represented by Xinjiang TBEA, Quadrant Space Drone, Xingniao Omnidirectional Recognition System, and the Northern China Intelligent Advanced Manufacturing R&D Platform. The industries are clearly categorized, and there is a high degree of integration and synergy among them.

This transformation entails establishing a more comprehensive and robust industrial supply chain, fostering closer collaborations and interdependence among industries, enhancing its prowess in scientific and technological innovation, and attracting a talented workforce. The park aims to showcase distinctive characteristics, bolster its competitive edge, and demonstrate substantial potential for sustainable development.
