Nearly 80 music teachers from 50 interior counties, including Tibet autonomous region, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Qinghai and Gansu provinces will receive free training in Tianjin.

The courses are designed to provide music teachers from impoverished areas the opportunities to get in touch with the latest research results in cutting-edge topics in the field of music education from around the world.

This initiative represents part of the coastal municipality's efforts to consolidate the antipoverty achievements in those areas. Last year, Tianjin helped all 50 poverty-stricken counties with an accumulative 3.35 million people to eradicate poverty.

The courses, consisting of lectures and selective lessons, are supported by the Vocational Training Center of China Musical Instrument Association (Tianjin).

The courses start on Thursday 15th and will last four days with famous music scholars sharing their theory and experience contiguously within a well-designed schedule.

The National Music Education Conference to be held in Tianjin Auditorium from July 16th to 18th adds a dash of color to proceedings. It is the highest standard and largest comprehensive music education event in China.

More than 100 keynote speeches, round table forums, music education forums, guest speeches and rich off-site exhibitions will be presented.

It is expected to broaden the participants' horizons, and improve music education philosophy and professional theoretical literacy.
