Xiamen certificate of origin self-printing covers Myanmar, Cambodia

A customs specialist of Xiamen Yuanren Biotechnology Co printed a China-Cambodia free trade agreement (FTA) certificate of origin in just 20 seconds on Sept 16, allowing the company's seafood exports to enjoy zero tariffs when cleared through Cambodian customs.

This marks the first time a company in Xiamen has obtained a preferential certificate of origin for exports to Cambodia through self-service printing, and adds Myanmar and Cambodia to the list of countries covered by the self-service printing of certificates of origin.

Certificates of origin for exports to Myanmar and Cambodia under Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the China-ASEAN FTA, and the China-Cambodia FTA are now available for self-service printing.

With this expanded scope, exporters can print more certificates through the International Trade Single Window Platform, further improving trade facilitation.

Xiamen Yuanren Biotechnology, which regularly exports seafood to Cambodia, is one of the companies benefiting from the new measure.

Previously, the company had to collect preferential certificates of origin for shipments to Cambodia from a 24-hour pickup locker at the customs declaration hall or have them delivered by EMS, but now it can submit declarations from its office and print certificates with an electronic seal directly once customs completes its smart review.
