The Heineken Xiamen Beer Carnival 2026 kicked off on Aug 14 with its main venue at the Meifeng Sports Park in Tong'an district, launching a five-day carnival-themed celebration.

The Tong'an main venue opened with a "Football Night" event, attended by 2006 World Cup champion Fabio Cannavaro in attendance. The former FIFA World Player of the Year expressed his support for Xiamen's youth football scene and joined thousands of local fans in a skills challenge, creating a platform for cross-cultural football exchange.

The carnival lineup featured dance acts, freestyle football, and roving interactive performances. On-site attractions also included a speed-drinking contest, a street food market, and Instagram-friendly photo spots — creating the ultimate summer beer getaway.

Five themed nights — football, tennis, sweet, F1, and international — fueled the five-day celebration, each offering a unique experience. The Tong'an World Studios satellite venue, which opened from July 24 to Aug 1, set up a main-and-satellite event structure that energized the entire district for summer.

Xiamen is home to one of the country's largest beer import and export ports, with annual trade volumes consistently ranking among the top nationwide — making it a bellwether for China's beer consumption market.

Tong'an district, in particular, has a longstanding beer industry, benefiting from strong cluster advantages, and has been developing its beer consumption event IP for 16 consecutive years.
