Tao Kaiyuan meets with foreign guests attending International Judicial Symposium on Intellectual Property
On May 28, Vice-President of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China Tao Kaiyuan met with Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Marco M. Alemán and other foreign guests in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, who are there to attend the International Judicial Symposium on Intellectual Property.
Tao welcomed the guests on their visit, saying that the symposium is a major outcome of the deepened cooperation between China's SPC and the WIPO, as well as a grand event for Chinese judges to communicate with their counterparts from all over the world. The symposium, with focus on current international issues related to intellectual property protection, serves as an important platform for exchanging experiences and consolidating consensus among all parties, she said. China's SPC is ready to work with the WIPO and colleagues from various countries to uphold judicial protection of intellectual property rights, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, and carry out practical cooperation, in a bid to advance the healthy development of the global intellectual property governance system towards a more just and fair direction, she added.
Alemán and other foreign guests lauded China's achievements in the judicial protection of intellectual property, and expressed willingness to enhance communication to jointly push for new development in the field.
