The Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs jointly released typical cases on strengthening cooperation in judicial assistance ahead of Army Day, which falls on Aug 1.
The released typical cases feature full coverage of recipients, close and efficient coordination between procuratorial organs and veterans affairs departments, as well as diversified and comprehensive assistance methods. They provide practical examples for carrying out judicial assistance involving military personnel on a regular basis and for further advancing work to support military personnel and give preferential treatment to their families in the new era.
The assistance recipients covered by the cases include veterans, their family members, and families of active-duty military personnel. Among them are veterans who sustained serious injuries after being intentionally harmed while acting bravely for a just cause, as well as families or minor children of veterans who fell into hardship as a result of legal cases.
Regarding assistance models, procuratorial organs and veterans affairs departments have given full play to their respective strengths by establishing a "green channel" for judicial assistance, prioritizing the timely disbursement of assistance funds, and promoting diversified social assistance and support, thereby effectively integrating judicial assistance with long-term support mechanisms.
In terms of linkage mechanisms, procuratorial organs and veterans affairs departments have established regular working mechanisms for information sharing, two-way transfer of case leads, coordinated assistance, and joint follow-up visits. These efforts have formed a comprehensive assistance framework featuring judicial leadership, administrative coordination and social participation.
Notably, the released cases include both assistance leads transferred from veterans affairs departments to procuratorial organs and those identified by procuratorial organs during case review and handling.
