On Sept 5, the fourth joint meeting to enhance procuratorial cooperation in the northwest region for the service and support of the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt was held in Baoji in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The meeting involved procuratorial organs at the provincial level including those of Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
Chen Guoqing, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), attended and addressed the meeting. Liu Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Commission of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, also participated.
Chen pointed out that serving and supporting the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt is part of efforts to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and advance Chinese modernization with high-quality and efficient procuratorial work.
The procuratorial organs of the six regions as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps should enhance coordination and cooperation, jointly safeguard political security and overall social stability, improve a law-based business environment, protect cultural heritages along the Silk Road Economic Belt, strengthen ecological environmental protection and ensure transportation safety, he said.
It is necessary to continue to effectively serve the people through procuratorial work, improve the quality and efficiency of supervision and case handling, expand the scope of procuratorial cooperation and promote innovation in social governance in order to make new achievements in promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, he added.
Wang Xuguang, Chief Prosecutor of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Procuratorate, chaired the meeting and delivered a speech.
Dou Zhaohui, Chief Prosecutor of the People's Procuratorate of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Li Yongjun, Chief Prosecutor of the People's Procuratorate of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as well as representatives from the procuratorates of Gansu and Qinghai provinces, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps also delivered speeches at the meeting.
The participants exchanged views on practices and achievements in serving and supporting the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt through procuratorial work, and reached consensuses on the steps in the next phase. The minutes of the meeting were adopted on its conclusion.
