Chen Guoqing, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), met with a delegation led by Zhyrgal Ismailov, Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan, in Beijing on Aug 22.
Extending a warm welcome to the delegation, Chen pointed out that, against the backdrop of the high-level development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations, cooperation between the two countries in the fields of law enforcement and judicial fields has been deepened, with frequent high-level exchanges between the two countries' procuratorial authorities.
He noted that the procuratorial authorities of Kyrgyzstan have participated in the Prosecutors General Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States, facilitating a deepening of exchanges and cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan.
Chen said he hoped that the procuratorial authorities of both countries, based on the comprehensive implementation of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, would further enhance mutual trust, actively expand exchanges and cooperation at all levels, and contribute to friendship between the two countries through the power of prosecution.
On the agenda during Chen's meeting with Ismailov was the role of China's procuratorial authorities, and their work in combating serious criminal offenses and upholding national security and social stability.
Chen noted that the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which was held in July, had adopted the Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on Further Deepening Reform Comprehensively to Advance Chinese Modernization.
China's procuratorial authorities are currently studying and planning further comprehensive reforms, formulating guidelines on accelerating the modernization of procuratorial work, and advancing the modernization of procuratorial work with a spirit of reform and innovation, he added.
Ismailov expressed his willingness to further elevate cooperation between the two countries' procuratorial authorities within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Zhang Jin, Chief Prosecutor of the Military Procuratorate of the People's Liberation Army of China, also attended the meeting.
