Ying warmly welcomed the arrival of the delegation, noting that China and Azerbaijan are good partners and friends and share mutual trust and sincere cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two countries has maintained a healthy and stable development momentum, with cooperation in various fields solidly advanced. He mentioned that at the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in September, 2022, the two countries' heads of state reached important consensus on the development of bilateral relations that provided strategic guidance for deepening all-round development of bilateral relations, including legal and judicial cooperation.
Ying briefed the Azerbaijani delegation on China's procuratorial system, the functions of Chinese procuratorial organs, and the latest progress made in the country's procuratorial work. He noted that China is comprehensively promoting the rule of law, and strengthening legal supervision by procuratorial organs to ensure strict and impartial justice. China's procuratorial organs are striving for modernization of their work to serve the Chinese path to modernization and are working hard to play a greater role in the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation.
Ying said that although functions of the procuratorial organs vary in different countries, their mission and responsibility are consistent in cracking down on crimes, respecting and protecting human rights, and maintaining national security, social stability, and people's peace in accordance with the law. He said he hopes that the procuratorial organs of the two countries will carry out more extensive exchanges, strengthen practical cooperation in combating crime, maintain stability, and better safeguard the core interests of the two countries and the fundamental interests of the people.
Aliyev said that the friendship between Azerbaijan and China has a long and lasting history and Azerbaijan sets high value on the Belt and Road Initiative. Azerbaijan's procuratorial organs are willing to continue to deepen practical cooperation with those of China in international criminal justice assistance, and exchange and training of prosecutors, so as to provide strong judicial guarantees for strengthening cooperation in various fields and promoting the healthy development of bilateral relations.
