Chen Guoqing, Deputy Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China, held a meeting with Sekenov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the General Prosecutor's Office and head of the Central Military Procuracy of Kazakhstan, in Beijing on April 24.
Chen welcomed Schegloff and stated that in the 31 years since China and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations, the bilateral relationship has made significant progress. Under the strategic guidance and direct promotion of the leaders of both countries, political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously consolidated, strategic coordination has been deepened, and fruitful practical cooperation has been achieved. International collaboration has been efficient and close, setting an example of friendly neighborly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between neighboring countries.
Chen said that there is a solid foundation and broader development prospect for the cooperation between the procuratorial departments, especially military procuratorates of China and Kazakhstan.
He said that the SPP is willing to work together with the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan to thoroughly implement important consensuses reached by the top leaders of the two countries, reinforce all-tier communication over mutual legal assistance of criminal cases, people-to-people exchanges and the training of procurators, deepen friendly cooperation between the two sides, provide high-quality judicial services to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, and elevate the development of bilateral relations to a new height for the interest of the people of the two countries.
Sekenov said that General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan is willing to engage in judicial coordination with the SPP in a pragmatic and efficient manner and make positive contributions to the further development of the friendly relations between the two countries.
Zhang Jin, head of the Military Procuratorate of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, also attended the meeting.
