The Taiyuan Rare Disease Medical Center and the Rare Disease Professional Committee of the Taiyuan Medical Doctor Association were established on Nov 27.

Taiyuan strives to integrate high-quality medical resources to build an efficient and collaborative diagnosis and treatment system, aiming to enhance the precision diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of rare diseases.

As the leading institution for both the medical center and the committee, Peking University First Hospital Taiyuan will utilize Peking University First Hospital's advanced expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases.

It will actively establish a high-level platform for academic exchange and collaboration. By organizing a series of activities such as regular academic seminars, sharing of complex cases, and professional technical training, the hospital aims to deepen interdisciplinary and inter-institutional cooperation.

Additionally, efforts will be made to raise public awareness of rare diseases through extensive science popularization, fostering a supportive social environment for patients with rare diseases.

During the meeting, experts held case discussions focusing on six areas: the nervous system, rheumatology and immunology, urology, endocrinology, digestive system, and dermatology. Through case presentations and expert commentary, they analyzed complex cases such as recurrent stroke and autoimmune diseases.
