In recent years, regions across North China's Shanxi province have upheld innovative development models, fostering the integration of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) with consumer scenarios and economic growth.
The province is home to 182 national-level representative ICH projects and 1,173 provincial-level ICH projects.
The province has created a buzz to attract tourists by innovating an "ICH + cultural tourism" model. This approach seamlessly integrates ICH into cultural and art activities and festival exhibitions, providing the public with consumption experiences.
More than 60 ICH projects have been incorporated into major scenic spots in Linfen city, such as the Yunqiu Mountain Scenic Area ICH Experience Zone and the Dahuaishu ICH Product Exhibition Area, allowing visitors a deeper understanding of Linfen's ICH resources.
To further enhance the reputation of Shanxi's ICH brand, regions across the province are actively constructing marketing platforms and expanding the social visibility of ICH parks. Focusing on its Luchou silk industry, Gaoping city is accelerating the upgrading and transformation of the Luchou Silk Park and incorporating it into rural tourism routes.
Moving forward, cultural tourism departments at all levels in the province will continue to enhance the construction and development of ICH tourism experience sites and boost the overall competitiveness of ICH brands, commercializing and industrializing cultural and artistic values.
