Founded by China State Railway Group Co, China Railway Taiyuan Group is a state-owned comprehensive services-oriented logistics enterprise. 

It's a subsidiary of China State Railway Group Co with the largest railway freight volume in China, the most advanced heavy-load technology, the highest conversion turnover, transportation density and labor productivity. 

The company, with 103,000 employees, is mainly responsible for the passenger and freight transportation in North China's Shanxi province. It is also responsible for part of the freight transportation in the surrounding provinces and cities such as Hebei province, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Shaanxi province, contributing to regional socioeconomic development. 

The company manages around 10 major railway and branch railway lines. These include the Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway, Zhangjiakou-Datong Railway, Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Railway, Datong-Puzhou Railway and Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway and the company operates a total of 4,949 kilometers of track, including 684 km for passenger railway transportation.
