Shanxi Museum of Geology

Attached to the Shanxi provincial land and resources department, the Shanxi Museum of Geology adjoins Shanxi Museum and Taiyuan Library, which covers an area of 31,000 square meters, including 11,811 sq m of exhibition area. Founded in 1958, the museum opened to the public for free on May 1, 2017. In possession of 15,000 pieces of collection boutiques, the museum boasts the world's unique fossils of Shansisuchus and Wang's crocodile.
Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 (No admission after 16:00)
Closed days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Chinese New Year's Eve and the first three days of the Spring Festival (except national holidays).
Admission fee: Free tickets with a valid certificate.
Group ticket: Tourist groups with more than 20 visitors must make an appointment two workdays in advance and get the tickets at the booking office.
