The province is promoting wellness tourism through its hot spring resources in cities like Datong, Xinzhou, Yangquan, and Yuncheng. It is also capitalizing on Datong, Jincheng, and Changzhi's climate and strategic locations to foster leisure and vacation tourism, creating destinations that offer unique accommodations, culinary experiences, and wellness retreats.

Shanxi connects its ancient architecture, villages, and natural landscapes across more than 100 counties with the Yellow River No 1, Great Wall No 1, and Taihang No 1 tourism highways crisscrossing the province, while enhancing its cultural and tourism offerings, diversifying entertainment options, and extending consumption chains to transform rural beauty and folk culture into economic growth.

Shanxi is also building regional brands by upgrading tourism functions and services in gateway cities like Taiyuan, Datong, Yuncheng, and Jincheng, and advancing the development of renowned tourist cities, counties, towns, and villages by tapping into local resources and innovating with "culture and tourism +" models.

The province is further fostering innovation in cultural industry demonstration bases, tourism leisure streets, and nighttime cultural and tourism consumption hubs to boost tourism performance and the concert economy.
