2024 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum opens

The 2024 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum (TELC) got underway on Sept 10 at the Shanxi Xiaohe International Convention Center in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province.

The opening ceremony was attended by diplomats stationed in China, government officials, and representatives from Shanxi's sister provinces and states. Also in attendance were international organization delegates, national and regional government representatives, provincial leaders, academicians, experts, and leaders from key energy enterprises and trade associations.

Shanxi provincial leaders welcomed attendees to the opening ceremony and expressed gratitude to those supporting Shanxi's development and the forum. They emphasized the forum's role as a vital platform for exchanging ideas on energy development, discussing industry-leading concepts, and sharing energy transition experiences.

The domestic and international guests praised Shanxi's achievements in the energy revolution as a comprehensive energy reform pilot province. They advocated for collaborative energy transformation and climate change mitigation efforts to create a clean and beautiful world.

Following the opening ceremony, keynote speeches were delivered by domestic and international guests, including Francesco La Camera, director-general of the International Renewable Energy Agency, Jesús Seade, Mexican ambassador to China, and Wang Shudong, chairman of China National Coal Group. These speeches provided insights into major energy sector issues.

The forum will continue with parallel sessions, investment promotions, and result announcements, with Mexico participating as the honored guest country in the related activities.
