Shanxi launches talent support plan for manufacturing industry

North China's Shanxi province announced the launch of a talent support plan for the manufacturing industry on July 12.
Under the plan, innovative entrepreneurs and advanced manufacturing technology professionals can directly apply for the title of senior engineer. Additionally, advanced basic technology talents will receive a grant of 250,000 yuan ($34,410.43) per person to help them build skill master studios.
The plan is a joint initiative by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shanxi Province, the Department of Finance of Shanxi Province, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Shanxi Provincial Government. It targets innovative entrepreneurs, advanced manufacturing technology professionals, and advanced basic technology talents.
Innovative entrepreneurs should serve as chairpersons or general managers of their companies, have made some outstanding achievements in technological innovation and have undertaken major national projects. Their companies should be at the forefront of the industry in terms of operating performance, product market share, technological innovation, and management capabilities.
Eligible talents will enjoy a range of national talent benefits, including participation in domestic and international training programs through projects like the "Quality Improvement Project for Enterprise Management Talents" and the "Knowledge Update Project for Professional and Technical Talents"; secondment to universities, research institutes, science and technology associations, and national manufacturing innovation centers for further training and development; and priority consideration for their companies when applying to carry out major projects in the fields of industry and information technology.
