Ma Tonggui, a deputy to the National People's Congress, recently put forward his suggestions on low-carbon development.

As a maintenance administrator, Ma has been working at Taiyuan Wusu International Airport for over 20 years. He fully understands that promoting the application of low-carbon technology and the construction of zero-carbon airports are essential for the development of the civil aviation industry.

During the annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee last year, Ma made two suggestions – the introduction of standards for the construction and operation of zero-carbon and low-carbon airports and increasing support for zero-carbon airport demonstration projects. These suggestions received specific responses from China's Civil Aviation Administration.

"I am continuing to refine relevant motions and will continue to advocate for low-carbon and green development in the airport industry at this year's upcoming two sessions," said Ma.

The third phase expansion of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport has implemented various measures, such as energy-efficient building construction, electricity substitution, and the deployment of clean and renewable energy to achieve low-carbon construction and operation.
