The Shanxi Aviation Industry Complex opened for trial operation on April 26 in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province.
It is the first large-scale comprehensive aviation cultural venue in Shanxi to integrate historical displays, simulations, science popularization, research, and interactive experiences.

Invested in and constructed by Shanxi Aviation Industry Group Co, the complex is located in the southwest of Yaocheng General Airport, and covers 38,000 square meters. It features an exhibition area that measures at 10,000 square meters, and is dedicated to aviation science culture and aviation interactive experiences.
Its main purpose is to provide a comprehensive education platform for the general public, especially teenagers and children. It will promote aviation knowledge, enhance aviation experiences, and establish new aviation ideals.

In early 2019, Shanxi was recognized as a national demonstration province for general aviation industrial development. Last August, Taiyuan was approved as a civil unmanned aviation test zone.
A layout of the general aviation industrial parks across the province has taken shape. Taiyuan, in central Shanxi, has built the Qingxu General Aviation Industrial Park. The park integrates basic aviation manufacturing, logistics upgrading, and cultural tourism and leisure models, and uses Yaocheng General Airport as its core. Additionally, Datong, in northern Shanxi, has built the Datong General Aviation Industrial Park, and Changzhi, in southern Shanxi, has developed the Changzhi General Aviation Industrial Park.
