The Shanxi Provincial Government and Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop the digital economy in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on March 15.
According to the agreement, the two sides will focus on building a new hub for digital economy innovation and development in Central and West China. They will also promote industrial digitalization, governance digitalization, and digital talent cultivation.
They will deepen cooperation and exchanges to promote intelligent mining, create industrial digital application scenarios, construct new smart cities, and accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy industry. They will also promote the accelerated development of information technology application innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital governance.
Early in February 2021, the Shanxi Provincial Government, Huawei, Jinneng Holding Group, and Shanxi-based Cloud Era Technology jointly launched a smart mining technology laboratory that is committed to 5G-connected coal mining within the province.
The signing of this agreement marked a new stage of cooperation between Shanxi and Huawei, and also marked new progress in Shanxi's integration of the digital economy.
