An innovation platform system with diverse levels and complete categories was formed in North China's Shanxi province, according to the Shanxi Department of Science and Technology on March 10. 

During the process of building this scientific and technological innovation platform system, Shanxi has continued to enhance enterprise innovation, and implemented targeted policies to incentivize enterprises to carry out scientific and technological innovation.

The province has strengthened its research on core technologies, and chose to focus on 10 key industrial chains and 10 characteristic industrial towns, with an investment of 370 million yuan ($53.62 million). It has also implemented 28 major science and technology projects as well as 130 key research and development projects. 

Shanxi has developed teams of scientific and technological innovation talents, and set up 11 young technical leaders in 28 major scientific and technological projects. This will promote the effective transformation of sci-tech achievements into productivity.
