Shanxi province in North China is participating in the ongoing fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai that kicked off on Nov 5.

A special exhibition hall focusing on Shanxi's remarkable performance over the past decade has been established and is divided into several exhibition areas. In the main display area, five modules are set up, showcasing outstanding results achieved by the province in reform and opening up, economy, culture, tourism, welfare, and technological innovation.

In the business promotion area, six national development zones in Shanxi were highlighted, as well as the province's investment attraction policy measures and key projects.

Also worth noting is the corporation display area, where Shanxi's chief enterprises in 10 major industrial chains are introduced, giving people a better understanding of Shanxi.

Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co, for example, provides nearly 3,000 types of manufacturing equipment related to metallurgy, mining, chemical engineering, transportation, wind power generation and engineering machinery. These products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions, and the company has to a great extent contributed to the growth of the industry in China.
