North China's Shanxi province has ushered in a golden period in the construction of intelligent coal mines, with five intelligent coal mines and 220 intelligent coal mine working faces newly built from January to June.

According to the Shanxi Energy Bureau, since 2020, the province has successively issued a series of policies and standards for the construction of these advanced mines.

To date, the province has completed 22 new intelligent coal mines and 548 intelligent coal mine working faces, and 24 coal mines have established 5G access. The mining efficiency has been greatly improved and labor has been significantly reduced, effectively helping improve the safety of production and supply in the mining sector.

This year, Shanxi has further accelerated its 5G-based intelligent mining and it aims to build 20 intelligent coal mines and 500 intelligent coal mine working faces within the year. 

It will further encourage local coal enterprises to speed up the technological transformation of their coal production, improve their intelligent production and jointly promote the safety, efficiency and eco-friendly development of the coal industry.
