North China's Shanxi province will further transform and upgrade traditional industries while expanding emerging industries by focusing on building 10 industrial chains in 2022.

According to the Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, the province will incubate and expand industrial chains of:

- Special steel materials

- New energy vehicles

- Wind power equipment

- Photovoltaics

- Hydrogen energy

- High-end equipment manufacturing

- Aluminum and magnesium deep processing

- Modern medicine

- Third-generation semiconductors

- Synthetic biology

Eight major actions including upgrading of enterprises in traditional industries, increase of market players, and innovation-driven development will be implemented in order to achieve the desired goals.
