The Shanxi Provincial Department of Finance, together with Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, recently arranged funds of 2 billion yuan ($284.06 million) to support 16 key projects helping rural revitalization.

Funds of 1.26 billion yuan were earmarked for nine projects concerning organic dry land farming, the development of leading agricultural enterprises, brand building of agricultural products, the development of the Shanxi herbal tea sector and agricultural product storage and logistics.

Projects to renovate rural toilets and renovate and beautify villages gained financial support of 582 million yuan from the two provincial departments. 

In addition, 159 million yuan will be used in furthering agricultural and rural reforms and services, such as five projects involving reform of the rural collective property rights system and the expansion of agricultural insurance.
