Airports in Shanxi
By the end of 2019, North China's Shanxi province had seven civil airports operating 242 civil airline routes.
The volume of passenger transport by air reached 20.37 million people in 2019, representing year-on-year growth of 10.5 percent.
The cargo transport volume of local civil airports amounted to 67,000 metric tons in 2019, up 9.6 percent year on year.
1. Taiyuan Wusu International Airport
Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, the largest airport in Shanxi province, has opened 151 civil air routes to 83 cities, and one cargo air route. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 13.58 million people in the end of 2018.

2. Changzhi Wangcun Airport
Changzhi Wangcun Airport now has eight air routes to 15 domestic cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan in Hubei province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong province. The passenger throughput of the airport reached 690,257 people in 2018.

3. Datong Yungang Airport
Datong Yungang Airport now has 20 air routes to 27 domestic cities covering major hubs in China, such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Harbin, Kunming and Yinchuan. It has three international air routes to three foreign cities: Siem Reap in Cambodia, Da Nang in Vietnam and Bangkok in Thailand. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 1.01 million people in 2018.

4. Lyuliang Dawu Airport
Lyuliang Dawu Airport now has air routes to 12 domestic cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou in Gansu province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong province. The passenger throughput of the airport reached 196,700 people between January and June in 2019.

5. Xinzhou Mount Wutai Airport
Opening in December 2015, Xinzhou Mount Wutai Airport has so far opened regular flight service to 16 domestic cities such as Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong province and Harbin in Heilongjiang province. The annual passenger throughput of the airport reached 327,784 people by Dec 25, 2018.

6. Yuncheng Guangong Airport
Yuncheng Guangong Airport now operates 14 air routes to 20 domestic cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou in Guangdong province, and Chengdu in Sichuan province. The airport has transported more than 6.6 million passengers and introduced five airlines since starting operations in 2005, developing into the second-largest airport in Shanxi province.

7. Linfen Qiaoli Airport
