Shuozhou traditional culture highlighted at Shanxi cultural event

Shuozhou city in northern Shanxi province allowed people to experience the charms of traditional culture at a close hand at the 4th Shanxi Cultural Industries Fair held in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, on Dec 5-10.
More than 500 exhibits in 30 categories -- such as models of Wooden Sakyamuni Pagoda in Yingxian county, embroidery and paper-cutting -- showed the city's rich cultural style at the Shuozhou Pavilion at the fair, attracting the attention of crowds of visitors.
Miniature-carvings, iron paintings, artificial embroideries, ceramic art carving, paper-cutting and ostrich eggshell carving were demonstrated on the spot.
Meanwhile, the Shuozhou Pavilion displayed the city's famous local ceramics. The ceramic industry with a long history has become the third pillar industry of Shuozhou. As of the end of 2018, it had 79 ceramic enterprises and 141 production lines with an annual output value of 8 billion yuan ($1.14 billion).
In addition, Shuozhou held key project promotion conferences and released 31 projects to attract investment.
These projects mainly involve cultural tourism, industrial parks, health care, sports and leisure sectors.
According to Ju Xushan, executive vice-minister of the Shuozhou publicity department, four companies intend to invest in four of 31 projects.
The four projects involve a tourist attraction developments, a youth football training camp and a recreational vehicle camp construction with an investment of 2.18 billion yuan.
