A total of 17 cultural companies and institutes from Taiyuan city met with success when they participated in the 4th Shanxi Cultural Industries Fair in Shanxi province on Dec 5-10, local officials said. 

Of the 17 participants, five are engaged in cultural creative designs, seven in traditional arts and crafts and five in cultural and technological integration. 

In addition, Taiyuan selected eight investment projects to be promoted and get planned financing of 1.13 billion yuan ($160.37 million).

The cultural industries fair saw four Taiyuan projects get backing, with an investment of 178 million yuan. 

The Taiyuan Pavilion at this year's fair, covering 300 square meters, was divided into culture-technology integration, cultural creative design, traditional arts and crafts and intangible cultural heritage sectors.
