Waigaoqiao Bonded Area
Waigaoqiao Bonded Area aims to become an agglomeration of overseas investment and key industries, such as international trade, financial services, shipping services, professional services and advanced manufacturing.
The area lies at the estuary of the Yangtze River. It covers four special customs areas totaling 28.78 square kilometers—the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Logistics Park, Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Area and Shanghai Pudong Airport Free Trade Zone.
The Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, China's first bonded zone, is the largest customs area in China with a high economic output and various services. It is engaged in international trade, modern logistics and financial services.
The Waigaoqiao Free Trade Logistics Park focuses on international purchases and distribution, and cross-border logistics.
The Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Area, the only one of its kind in the country approved by the State Council on Jan 17, 2020, specializes in bonded exhibition and trade, bulk commodities trade, cold-chain logistics for fresh foods, imported agricultural products and international shipping services.
The Pudong Airport Free Trade Zone, a forerunner in developing Shanghai's airport service sector, is intended to be a hub for aviation enterprise headquarters, aviation support industries and international aviation services.
