Zibo, a city in Shandong province, stole the spotlight at the 2023 Green Low-Carbon High-Quality Development Conference held in Yantai on Aug 29.

During the conference, Zibo presented 200 key promotion projects totaling 255.98 billion yuan ($35.23 billion) in investments. Of the 70 projects signed by Shandong province during the conference, six with a combined investment of 6.68 billion yuan were from Zibo.
The city had also put up visual displays to highlight the city's commitment to green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
One notable project from Zibo is the one-million-ton carbon dioxide transport pipeline spanning 100 kilometers. This innovative system captures, transmits, utilizes, and stores carbon dioxide, significantly reducing transportation costs, saving natural gas, and cutting carbon emissions.
