Several events are being held at the Cowherd and Weaving Maid Scenic Spot in Zibo city, Shandong province from Aug 22 to 27 to celebrate the Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.
The events include an opening ceremony, an on-site creation event by famous artists, a tasting experience, a performance titled The Return of Weaving Maid, the first hanfu cultural festival, a vow ceremony at the mountain summit, and the "World Tourism Miss" selection event.

Located in Yiyuan county, the Cowherd and Weaving Maid Scenic Spot covers around 4.5 square kilometers and features the Daxian Mountain and the Yihe River. The area has a forest coverage of 92.7 percent and is famous for its unique ancient architectural ruins which are connected to the legendary Cowherd (Niulang) and Weaving Maid (Zhinyu), making it the only site in China centered around this love story.
