Organizers are gearing up for the start of the Second Zibo-Tsingtao Beer Festival, according to a recent news conference, which said the event was scheduled to run from July 23 to Aug 1 at the Zibo Convention Center in the city's Zhangdian district.
Zibo is a prefecture-level city in East China's Shandong province and on the basis of the successful experience last year, this year the event is expected to have more pizzazz – involving four themed areas around town and such extravaganzas as eight light shows and a water curtain.
The aim is to create a great mix of flowing beer, tasty cuisine, technology, leisure and art.
During the festival a host of fun activities, such as a beer-drinking competition, robot competition and snow and ice sports experience will be staged. The festival will, naturally, also showcase a wide variety of international beers – enabling Zibo locals to sample the tastes of the world without going abroad.
In terms of epidemic prevention and control measures, the event will set up two entrances in the north and south of the venue and will check each reveler's personal health QR code before they are allowed to join the party. Other measures will include regular disinfection and ventilation of the venue and restrictions of the number of visitors and traffic flows.
Li Xinsheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Zibo CPC Municipal Committee, attended the news conference and invited friends from all walks of life to visit Zibo to get a feel for the vitality of the city.
He said he expected the event would help generate further energy and business for Zibo's night economy and promote the city as one of the hot national and provincial night tourism places to go to.
