Shandong province in East China has been ramping up efforts to boost economic cooperation and facilitate investment with Hong Kong. As part of these efforts, the Shandong-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Fair was held on June 10 in Zibo, Shandong province via both online and offline channels.

Sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce and the Zibo Municipal People's Government, the event has gained support from a number of related departments and organizations, such as the Hong Kong Commerce and Industry Associations, the liaison office of the Zibo government in Hong Kong, as well as the Zibo bureau of commerce.
The event marked another major Shandong-Hong Kong economic and trade promotion activity, following the "Conference on deepening ties between Shandong province, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan," which was held on March 23.

About 430 guests attended the event to promote comprehensive, multi-field, and practical cooperation between Shandong and Hong Kong.
A total of 104 industrial projects, engaging new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, medical and health care, the high-end chemical industry, modern and efficient agriculture, cultural creativity, boutique tourism, as well as modern service were promoted at the event. In addition, 70 industrial parks covering biopharmaceuticals, new energy vehicles, digital technology, and smart manufacturing were showcased at the event.
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai made a special promotion of Hong Kong, while the Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission gave an overview of the province's economic and social development, as well as its cooperation projects during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

This fair facilitated the signing of cooperation agreements for 117 projects, with a total investment of 94.56 billion yuan ($14.82 billion).
