Northern Micro-drama City achieves national-level award

The Northern Micro-drama City in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) was recently honored with the prestigious "Annual Filming Base" award by the China Federation of Radio and Television Associations.

Spanning an impressive 32 square kilometers, the Northern Micro-dramas City boasts a diverse array of over 100 filming locations and can accommodate more than 10 film crews. Building upon Qingdao's well-established film and television industry infrastructure, the base offers comprehensive scene and crew support services, as well as assistance in review, promotion, and other essential areas, thus establishing itself as a fully-equipped micro short film production hub with a robust industry ecosystem in northern China.

Since commencing operations in April 2024, the base has hosted the filming of 102 productions, including 11 high-quality short films, 13 internationally acclaimed short films, and 33 domestically released works. Encompassing a wide array of genres, including overseas dramas, bespoke productions, revolutionary narratives, and urban stories, it has stimulated a variety of businesses in the Cangma Mountain and surrounding regions, including dining, accommodation, and consumer services. 

Moreover, the base has had a strong impact on Qingdao's film and television industry, influencing aspects such as figurant teams, makeup and styling crews, film investments, industry resources, and creative approaches, thereby propelling the convergence of Qingdao's film and television culture with its cultural tourism sector.

Looking ahead, the base is committed to further elevating its production quality, crew services, and actor support facilities. It aims to provide comprehensive support and services to micro short film and television organizations nationwide.
