The 2024 Shandong provincial strategic emerging industry cluster list has recognized 10 clusters across the province, and, the Qingdao West Coast New Area's next-generation display industry cluster made the list as Qingdao's sole representative.
This cluster is primarily based in the Qingdao New Display Industrial Park, with a focus on fostering the high-quality development of the next-generation display industry and aiming to establish a comprehensive industry value chain from core materials and equipment manufacturing to display panel and module production, and finally to display terminal manufacturing.

Qingdao West Coast New Area now boasts a national-level strategic emerging industry cluster in energy-saving and environmental protection, along with three provincial-level clusters in industrial internet, integrated circuits, and next-generation displays.
Next-generation display technology is a key emerging industry for Qingdao. Since the founding of the Qingdao New Display Industrial Park in 2022, it has attracted 29 key projects with a total investment of 56.6 billion yuan ($7.95 billion).
In the first half of this year, the park's large-scale industrial enterprises saw output increase 13 percent to 20.3 billion yuan, with nearly 30 new key projects reserved, totaling an investment of nearly 180 billion yuan.
