The international beer festival alliance cooperation mechanism was established in 2019 by the Qingdao International Beer Festival, Munich Oktoberfest, the Great American Beer Festival, and Toronto's Festival of Beer. The alliance aims to promote communication, cultural exchange, and collaboration among beer festivals worldwide.

Since its founding, the alliance has encouraged regular member interactions, sharing updates on festival developments and using the platform for networking and cooperation. Annual meetings have been held during the Qingdao International Beer Festivals, including the 30th, 31st, and 33rd editions.
