BFMTV, a leading French news channel, has expressed great interest in the global reach of Chinese cinema, dedicating a 4-minute prime-time segment to the film Creation of the Gods. The channel underscored the film's unprecedented success in China, drawing a vivid comparison to "the whole of France watching one film together," illustrating its widespread appeal.

Released on July 20, 2023 in the Chinese mainland, the film is the first installment of a trilogy loosely adapted from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) novel Fengshen Yanyi, or The Investiture of the Gods.
