The management of the public pipe gallery is directly related to the digitalization and refinement of safe production and risk prevention and control in chemical parks. Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) launched a smart management platform for the public pipeline gallery at Dongjiakou Chemical Industrial Park, which started construction in February with an investment of 18 million yuan ($2.58 million).

To date, the platform has laid 85 percent of the optical cables and restored 80 percent of the earthwork backfill. It is expected to be completed in August and put into operation by the end of this year.

Constructed by Dongjiakou Development Group, the project consists of one major platform, one data center, one security system and two subsystems that cover the operations of the pipe gallery, the data center network, the security system, the computer room and monitoring center and the front-end subsystem.

The platform also includes functional modules such as online monitoring, daily inspection, intelligent operations and maintenance, management of pipe gallery operations and underground pipelines.

Once completed, it is expected to enhance the level of intelligent monitoring and management of the pipe gallery, ensure safe and efficient operations and improve public facilities in the park.

Dongjiakou Development Group aims to build a green and low-carbon new material industrial park with a scale of more than 100 billion yuan, accelerate key projects in such areas as road facilities, the ecological environment, sewage interception and village relocation and attract more investment and financing to construct a green and smart chemical park with a scale exceeding 1 trillion yuan.
