Core storehouse put into use in Qingdao WCNA

A core storehouse of Cainiao, a giant logistics company in China, was put into use in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) on Feb 26, and is expected to boost the area's logistics sector.

Located at the Qingdao WCNA Bonded Logistics Center, the storehouse received a total investment of 100 million yuan ($15 million). It covers an area of 60,000 square meters and provides offices for a number of Cainiao's cross-border business lines.

The storehouse is expected to help Qingdao WCNA become more pluralistic, intensified and digitalized.

It helped complete the service chain of cross-border e-commerce at the bonded logistics center and now has the largest number of cross-border e-commerce import platforms in China.

Playing a leading role in Qingdao's cross-border e-commerce, Qingdao WCNA boasted a foreign trade volume of 10.33 billion yuan in 2022, an increase of 3.2 percent from that in 2021. The city's import value reached 5.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.7 percent, and accounted for 99 percent of all of Qingdao.
