The Lingshan Bay Film and Television Culture Industry Area in Qingdao West Coast New Area of Shandong province is striving to be a new highland for economic development, an urban zone for a better quality of life and a fertile ground for innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
"This year, we aim at winning the 'four major battles' and achieving breakthroughs in six aspects including promoting the new economy, optimizing the business environment and constructing key projects," a local official said.
The "four major battles" refers to exploring the path toward prosperity of film and television culture, fashion tourism, healthcare and the integration of production and education. For film and television culture, the area plans to introduce more than 50 film crews and variety shows this year. It is also expanding an integrated model of "film, television and tourism", boosting cultural tourism industries in Lingshan Bay and Cangma Mountain and organizing major events such as the Qingdao Film and Television Expo.
Home to 16 parks, the area plans to lead the film and television industry this year, launch the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis Industrial Park and build 5G and virtual reality (VR) parks to stimulate the new economy and industrial development.
This year, the area plans to introduce three to five foreign investment projects and the actual use of foreign capital is expected to hit $120 million. The area’s import and export value is estimated to reach $190 million, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent, and it also plans to introduce 50 projects and generate tax revenue of 40 million yuan ($5.75 million), an increase of 15 percent year-on-year.
