The Lantern Festival is on Feb 5 this year, and Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) has prepared an array of various activities.
At Golden Beach Beer City, colorful lanterns in the shapes of marine animals with sound effects are on display to highlight Qingdao as a coastal city.
To create an intense festive atmosphere, Qingdao Aduohuayu town has been decorated in a Tang Dynasty (618-907) style. On the streets, models and visitors dressed in beautiful traditional Chinese clothing can be seen everywhere, as well as lovely traditional Chinese lanterns.

At the town, visitors can also relish in traditional Chinese culture by making their own bracelets, learning pottery and guessing lantern riddles.
Themed on the 24 solar terms, a great number of festivities such as drum performances and lighting ceremonies kicked off at Langya Terrace on Jan 25 and will last until Feb 5.
To promote traditional Chinese culture, handicraft classes are also being offered to visitors at Langya Terrace. In the classes, visitors can learn how to make rabbit-shaped lanterns, woodcuts and clay sculptures.
