5 villages in Qingdao WCNA receive provincial honors for rural tourism

Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) in the coastal city in Qingdao, Shandong has achieved fruitful results in building a beautiful countryside, and five villages in the area received provincial honors for promoting the development of rural tourism.

Currently, Qingdao WCNA is home to 11 scenic villages, and has created 70 rural tourism brands above the municipal level, and both achievements have ranked first in Qingdao.

Houcun village in Langya town, Qingdao WCNA, is close to the ancient scenic spot of Langya Tai, and enjoys a superior geographical location, enabling the village to develop rural tourism.

In recent years, the village has leveraged its unique resources and promoted the integrated development of culture and tourism. Fishery-themed homestay tourism has become a pillar industry in the village, bringing an annual income of more than 20 million yuan ($2.88 million), which has helped boost the area's rural vitalization.

Li'er village in Tieshan community is a pleasant place with clear water and green mountains. It has explored a new development model integrating Red culture and ecological tourism in a bid to build a distinctive rural tourism brand. The village receives 210,000 visitors every year, and rakes in an annual tourism revenue of 20 million yuan.

Xucun village in Wangtai neighborhood has a history of more than 3,000 years. It is the largest peach planting base in Qingdao. Focusing on "peach" culture, Xucun has held the Peach Blossom Garden Art Festival, which carries out a series of activities such as peach flower appreciation, photography, and performances to attract visitors.
